Today, at a local sandwich establishment, in order to save a dollar, I ordered a water and recieved the clear and small plastic cup designated strictly for water consumption. When I got to the soda fountain, I decided that instead of water, I would fill my clear plastic cup full of lemonade. The employee who was wiping down the counter and picking up straw wrappers near the machine explained to me that I had a cup designated for water only and that I should not be filling it with lemonade. I told him that I was getting water--just water with some lemon in it.

I've done this, filled the cup with water and then—oops!—let my finger slip onto the button that dispenses full lemonade, lemoning-up my water. My argument is that they wouldn't put the water tab with the lemonade if they didn't want people to do this sometimes.

I think it is pretty amazing that a worker would even care if you did this. Ahhh...those hardworking midwestern fast food peeps. One of the first things that I noticed when I moved to mississippi is that if you really wanted to, you could get away with filling your water cup with diet coke because the workers would find it too exhausting to tell you not to do this. I have also seen a middle aged lady walk out of walmart with a duvet set. The alarms went off and no one paid attention.

I have GOT to start shoplifting.
