Notebook Tonight

A and I watched The Notebook tonight. I don't care what you think--I enjoyed it. It tugged on a handful of heartstrings. We both balled our little eyes out. The lump is still in my throat. They just loved each other so damn much.

If you want to ball your eyes out watch Dancer in the Dark (lars von trier) with Bjork. It is amazing. I just watched it a couple weeks ago and I still feel like crying. Thin Red Line made me cry hard too. Those are number one and number two on my list of movies that made me cry the hardest. In case you wanted to know. and you didn't. but I told you anyway.

ohhh...and your ugly duckling press shipment looks rad.

wow...i know you said you don't care, but jeez, watch moments of notebook on a plane and it was absolutely over the top, excessive, silly, dumb...as for anything lars vo trier does is brilliant. dancer in the dark is absolutely hearbreaking, though no jumping out of busses to run the palm lined streets of charleston after your later in you news cap...most scandanavian directors will rip your heart out..as for thin red line it remains my most favorite movie of all time. see malick's others: days of heaven and badlands (an 18? year old sissy spacek, good god). have you seen david gordon green's george washington? saw that a few years ago and could barely watch it because it was so absolutely thin red line, though the plot nothing like it, but all the shots, the drone, the animals...i just hope green gives credit cuz i'd like to see his new one undertow...wow, the notebook....

Kevin:
Badlands is total favorite as well. I want to take pictures of the screen and hang them on the wall so I can just stare at some of his badass shots. And days of heaven is also good. I want the Terrance Malick Trio of DVD's sitting on my shelf asap.

Zach: sorry for hijacking the thread. I just really like Lars Von Trier and Terrence Malick. YUM.

Hijack one more time: This is about music and not movies, but hearbreaking and beautiful, just the same. Joanna Newsom? Drag City? I have been screaming about her for months now. I make my students listen to her. I tell everyone I know about her. Her sound kicks me in the gut/heart.

yeah she's a dreamer. her and oldham released an album together. drag city held a reading at the last awp. see oldham on the streets of baltimre quite often. move: the idiots, also scadanavian, also zero kelvin...about this real prissy poet who tries hunting seal in greeenland for a year..stunning...also just saw, the return, russian. much is how i approach liking the movies of these
