I've been a little down lately. I'm sure it doesn't help that I've been listening to this depressing crap:

Death Cab's Plans

Sun Kil Moon's Tiny Cities (covers of Modest Mouse songs)

Thanks Adam.

I just bought that Death Cab album today.

That death cab album is amazing, especially the extended metaphor that closes the first song. Try Joni Mitchell for other consoling music when depressed.

I turned that stuff off for a while.

These days: Josh Rouse's Nashville all the time.

Oh, and in my dream the other night, your book got picked up. Soon. I can feel it.

Charles, cool, but don't listen to it if someone close to you is dying. Craig, I'm reaching for my Joni Mitchell as we speak. Adam, you are so kind to me, so encouraging. Thank you. I hope your dreams are accurate! I have that same dream every night.

I am going to put my nerdy two cents in on this one. Joni Mitchell is great and I love her, but she has a vagina and I know how you have a hard time relating to vagina singers. Listen to Cat Stevens. Cornball? yes. Soothing? yes. But he is the only singer that can use the word soul with no irony in a lyric and I don't recoil in horror.
